Al Qatami: the 20% increase in the exhibition size reflects the boom of the pharmaceutical industry
Dubai – United Arab Emirates,7th of March, 2017: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of the Dubai Health Authority, inaugurated today the 22nd edition of Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference & Exhibition – (DUPHAT), held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami was accompanied by a number of local and international representatives, heads of delegations, and specialists in the pharma field.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami and dignitaries took a tour in the exhibition area where they were introduced to the latest pharmaceutical products and technologies displayed by key players in pharmaceutical industry from the region and the world. He has also visited DUPHAT Tech, the specialized exhibition for pharma technology that was launched this year, where he was introduced to the pharma technology and packaging of pharmaceutical products and smart storage techniques and solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.
Following the opening ceremony, H.E. Humaid Al Qatami stressed on the fact that with Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference & Exhibition (DUPHAT) attracting thousands of pharmacists, specialists, leading local and international pharmaceutical companies, along with global pharmaceutical suppliers, it only shows the competitive edge of Dubai. This explains why Dubai is considered one of the top destinations worldwide for hosting international conferences and exhibitions in different areas and fields including healthcare and related events.
“In addition to the success of the conference and exhibition in attracting prominent figures and specialized experts from around the world, it also brings together researchers and university students to compete in profound scientific competitions, which reflects the evolution of the pharmaceutical sector.” He Added
He continued: “We are also very proud that DUPHAT enjoys a sustainable growth in the number of participants, visitors, scientific activities, exhibiting companies and sponsors. This year, DUPHAT have witnessed a 20% increase on the exhibition size compared to last year. We have more than 600 companies participating from 75 countries covering a space of 16,800 Sqm. DUPHAT 2017 expects more than 26,000 participants and visitors to actively take part in its 22nd edition.”
His Excellency stressed that international health leaders know that Dubai is the ideal place to meet and exchange ideas, expertise, and experiences. Dubai is also the perfect destination for international institutions and multinational companies to showcase their products and services in a competitive supportive setup. H.E. pointed out that the growing international stature of Dubai is the basis of the success of conferences and congresses, thus helping institutions and companies to achieve their objectives and targets.
His Excellency concluded saying that DUPHAT has become a leading event and a destination by itself, praising the great efforts by INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions, and everyone working to make this annual event more successful and bigger.

DUPHAT conference agenda this year features 172 scientific sessions and 36 workshops that cover several pharmaceutical topics, in addition to 612 poster presentations. The conference witnesses the participation of 168 speakers and a notable participation from GCC delegates in scientific sessions that will be presented by pharmaceutical societies and associations from Saudi, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.
